On June 25, 2004, Delegate Frederick wrote to the Prince William County Board of Supervisors and encouraged them to do everything possible to prevent the closing of Tim's Rivershore, a small business located within the 52nd District which provides more than 100 jobs.
That letter states:
"I am writing to respectfully request and urge in the strongest possible terms that you take whatever actions necessary to assist Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant and Crabshack in ultimately ensuring their viability as a valued business in our community and in the 52nd District by moving to permit immediate usage of their outside deck.
As you know, Tim’s is an important asset in Eastern Prince William. It is a consistently successful business that attracts customers from the entire Northern Virginia Region and contributes a great deal to our local economy. As part of that contribution, Tim’s is without a doubt a job-creator, employing over a hundred of our local citizens and providing many of our college-aged population a means to support themselves and their educational expenses. This isn’t simply a seafood restaurant, but a Potomac River landmark for the boating and non-boating public alike.
Tim’s is also a strong corporate citizen, engaged in a number of charitable projects, raising tens of thousands of dollars for organizations like the American Cancer Society and the Special Olympics.
It is rare to find such regionally popular establishments unique to our Potomac communities, and Tim’s is one among few. Prince William cannot afford to lose Tim’s, and indeed those of us with the privilege to serve and govern should be working to preserve, protect, and promote these establishments, particularly small businesses like Tim’s, not drive them out of business."
