Dumfries, Virginia (October 6, 2007) -- Delegate Jeff Frederick issued the following statement today regarding the passing of Congresswoman Jo Ann Davis:

“Amy and I were shocked and saddened by today's devastating news of Jo Ann Davis' passing.

Jo Ann has been in my prayers all year as she bravely fought her courageous battle against a terrible reoccurrence of breast cancer. Displaying her characteristic strength and iron will through it all, God nevertheless has called her Home – and she faithfully answered that call this morning.

It was my privilege to have had the opportunity to know and work with such a remarkable woman and honorable public servant. The Commonwealth has lost a true patriot. We all mourn, but her family has lost a wife, mother, and grandmother. Our thoughts and prayers are with them that they might find peace and comfort in the difficult days ahead.”
